Equation
\[ x^2yz+xy^2+y^3+y^3z = x^2z^2 \]
Properties:
- degree 4
- unbounded
- two singular curves of degree 1, which intersect at the origin
- two holes. the small hole in the print is not a mistake
Some story
This was one of the first surfaces I had printed, and continues to be a challenge to print well. Because of the ways the surface folds, it requires a lot of support to print well.
The one shown here was printed at the NCSU library's UPrint, from ABS supported by HIPS. I merely provided the model.
